Basketball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Soldotna Stars

The University City Centurions will take on the Soldotna Stars in a tournament on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

University City is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Holy Names Academy just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 44-33 to Holy Names Academy. The game was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Centurions couldn't quite close it out.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Topanga Tusantoso, who posted eight points and five rebounds. Kianna Lefear was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Soldotna's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Saturday. They took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paloma Valley. The contest marked the Stars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Soldotna fell to 4-1. As for University City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
