West Las Vegas took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Hatch Valley Bears 34-18. The victory continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Caydin Encinias was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 92 yards and one TD.

Another reason for the win was West Las Vegas' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 6.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by EJ Pacheco and Fiddel Herrera, who racked up four sacks between them.

Looking ahead, West Las Vegas is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Dexter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hatch Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
