Softball Recap: Morris Takes a Loss

Morris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Prague Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-2 defeat on Thursday.

Brooke Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Morris saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chyla Marris, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Morris' loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Prague, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Morris will venture away from home to take on Checotah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Prague has already played their next matchup (against Beggs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
