Soccer Game Preview: Steele vs. Vermilion

The Steele Comets will challenge the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Steele is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

On Wednesday, Steele beat Midview 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Steele.

They hit Midview with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Benjamin Thompson, Matthew Hammond, Landon Boone, and Kameron Kadow.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Vermilion was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against Edison, falling 7-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Vermilion haven't been shut out since back in September.

Steele's win bumped their record up to 10-4-2. As for Vermilion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Steele beat Vermilion by a goal when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sailors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
