Basketball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Cornerstone Christian Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Las Lomas Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Cornerstone Christian Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Las Lomas will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

While Las Lomas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 58-23 win over Terra Linda. The Knights pushed the score to 41-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans had little chance of recovering from.

Las Lomas' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Milla Hansen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Kimiko Hirahara, who posted 15 points along with six assists and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Hansen a new career-high in steals (six). Aisha Sandhu was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian suffered their biggest defeat since January 13th on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 63-24 loss at the hands of Sierra Pacific. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Las Lomas' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Las Lomas might still be hurting after the 68-42 loss they got from Cornerstone Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Las Lomas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
