Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Potsdam

Potsdam had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-5 back in April.

Nick Roda made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Sam Martin and Brandon Bernard did most of the damage at the plate: Martin went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Bernard got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Potsdam is 5-1 when Bernard posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Toby Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Potsdam kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Potsdam's record now sits at 6-10. As for Ogdensburg Free Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.
