Recap: Las Plumas Thunderbirds vs. Oroville Tigers
The Las Plumas Thunderbirds suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Oroville by a score of 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Las Plumas has suffered against Oroville since December 14, 2019.
Ava Hepworth and liliana Carrillo certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Hepworth dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Carrillo scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Hepworth hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games.
Leading Oroville to victory were Leila Jackson and Serenity Miller. Jackson dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Miller pulled down eight or more rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Las Plumas and nudges their season record down to 9-10. As for Oroville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Las Plumas will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orland at 7:30 p.m. As for Oroville, they will head out on the road to challenge Corning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Corning has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
