Softball Recap: Mangum Wins Going Away Against Del City

Mangum had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Del City on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Eagles 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Giselle Rowell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Hallie Smith was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mangum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del City only managed five hits.

Mangum's record now sits at 10-3. As for Del City, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Mangum will head out on the road to take on Cordell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Del City, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Binger-Oney at 3:00 p.m.
