Baseball Recap: Lakes Takes a Loss

If Lakes was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Antioch on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Crystal Lake South Gators by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 18-4-1. As for Crystal Lake South, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lakes will square off against Grant Community at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.04 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crystal Lake South, they will take on Jacobs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
