Decatur extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 3-1. They breezed past the Snow Hill Eagles to the tune of 50-14. The Seahawks' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Decatur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Johnny Hobgood led the charge by throwing for 114 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Kyle Mumford was in the mix as well, providing the Seahawks with two touchdowns.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Decatur, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Brian Chester, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

As for Snow Hill, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. They gained 114 more yards on the day, but it was Decatur that made the best use of them.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaydon Boulware, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Waters, who rushed for 112 yards on only six carries.

Looking ahead, Decatur will host Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Snow Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Colonel Richardson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
