Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Vienn Sheng and Adelaide Chan Lead Priory to Victory

Priory lost to San Joaquin Memorial back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Priory Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers, sneaking past 57-54.

Priory was led to victory by Adelaide Chan and Vienn Sheng. Chan went 5 for 7 on her way to 10 points and six assists, while Sheng posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Nani Tuigamala, who had six points and ten boards.

San Joaquin Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sienna Evans, who went 8 of 15 en route to 24 points and five rebounds. Evans is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Gia Souza was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points.

Priory's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Priory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-42 win against Notre Dame on the 21st. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-56 victory against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory on the 20th.
