Baseball Recap: St. Patrick Comes Up Short

St. Patrick fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Niles Notre Dame on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 2-1. The Shamrocks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dons earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

St. Patrick's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Niles Notre Dame, they moved to 6-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Patrick will host Marian Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Shamrocks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Niles Notre Dame, they will challenge Marist at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
