Softball Recap: Islands Has No Trouble Against Jenkins

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Savannah Christian, Islands was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Jenkins Warriors 15-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the Sharks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Kaylee Mosely was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Skyler Fuller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Islands was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkins only posted a batting average of .294.

The victory got Islands back to even at 1-1. As for Jenkins, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Islands will take on Calvary Day at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jenkins, they will head out to face off against Liberty County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
