Softball Recap: Akron-Westfield Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Akron-Westfield waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Lawton-Bronson Eagles with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Westerners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Akron-Westfield's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lawton-Bronson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Akron-Westfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 win against River Valley on the 27th. As for Lawton-Bronson, they have also already played their next game, a 22-5 victory against Ar-We-Va on the 28th.
