Softball Game Preview: Tupelo Tigers vs. Byng Pirates

The Tupelo Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Byng Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tupelo took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Moss.

Meanwhile, Byng made easy work of Shawnee on Friday and carried off an 18-2 victory. Considering the Pirates have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Byng is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Tupelo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.
