Baseball Game Preview: Carmel Corsairs vs. Deerfield Warriors

The Carmel Corsairs will venture away from home to challenge the Deerfield Warriors at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Carmel is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Carmel and Marian Catholic, and Marian Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Corsairs took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans on Saturday.

Deerfield came out on top against Maine South on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Warriors took their contest against the Hawks 5-2.

Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Deerfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Carmel beat Deerfield 8-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Corsairs repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
