Volleyball Game Preview: Sickles Gryphons vs. Newsome Wolves + How To Watch

The Sickles Gryphons are taking a road trip to take on the Newsome Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Sickles has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Newsome will arrive with three straight wins.

Sickles came up short against Tampa Prep on Friday, falling 3-0.

While Sickles was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Tampa Prep's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Newsome beat Bradenton Christian 3-1 on Saturday.

Newsome had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18.

Newsome's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Sickles, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Sickles couldn't quite get it done against Newsome when the teams last played last Friday as they fell 2-0. Can the Gryphons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
