Basketball Recap: Renaissance Academy Triumphs

If Bristol wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Renaissance Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Aniyah Jones. The Renaissance Academy Knights took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging a 49-13 victory over the Bristol Warriors thanks in part to Jones, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points along with five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Renaissance Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bristol, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Renaissance Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Delaware County Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delaware County Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Renaissance Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bristol, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
