Baseball Game Preview: Tattnall Square Academy Trojans vs. Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots

The Tattnall Square Academy Trojans will face off against the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tattnall Square Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

Tattnall Square Academy barely beat Valwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Valiants a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The Trojans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th.

Not much got past Tucker Brown, who gave up just six hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Valwood off the board. Brown has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Still, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marquez Wilson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Wilmington Christian Academy suffered their closest defeat since February 25th on Friday. They fell just short of John Milledge Academy by a score of 7-5.

Wilmington Christian Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Tattnall Square Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
