Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Southwest DeKalb Panthers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Central's seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest DeKalb, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-6 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Central beat the Panthers by a score of 15-0 later that day.
