Football Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

If Highland Park was riding high fresh off their 55-18 takedown of Memphis last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets fell 34-30 to the Dimmitt Bobcats on Friday. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Highland Park now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dimmitt, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1.

Highland Park will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Texas at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Comanches' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Dimmitt, they will challenge Slaton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
