Volleyball Recap: Texas Wins Going Away Against Jacksonville

Texas had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Jacksonville on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Fightin' Indians with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Fightin' Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

While Texas won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.

Eva Treadway paced Texas' offense, picking up 13 kills. Treadway got some help from Kyleigh Perkins and her 15 assists. Taryne Stiger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Texas' victory bumped their record up to 22-15. As for Jacksonville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Texas is set to face off against their familiar foe Mt. Pleasant at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jacksonville will challenge rival Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
