Softball Recap: Alcovy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Alcovy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Clarke Central Gladiators. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gladiators earlier this season, when they won 15-7.

Ra'Niya Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakyhia Lawrence, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Alcovy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Clarke Central, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 8-12.

Alcovy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clarke Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Newton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
