Football Recap: Somerset Prep Comes Up Short

Somerset Prep had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They took a blow against the King's Academy Lions, falling 50-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Somerset Prep of the 42-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for King's Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

King's Academy found their leader in sophomore Dj Beneby, who threw for 104 yards and three touchdowns. Fletcher Hodges was in the mix too, providing the Lions with one score.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Somerset Prep will square off against Victory Charter School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for King's Academy, they will face off against Somerset Academy - Canyons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
