Soccer Game Preview: Silver Creek vs. Air Academy

The Silver Creek Raptors will square off against the Air Academy Kadets on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Silver Creek sitting on eight straight wins and Air Academy on three.

Silver Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Rampart. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Silver Creek's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Rampart are ranked 42nd).

Brian Kim and Parker Brown scored both of Silver Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Air Academy who was credited with the win on Wednesday. The Kadets got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to Centaurus' five.

Air Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-4-2. As for Silver Creek, their win bumped their record up to 14-1-1.

Everything went Silver Creek's way against Air Academy when the teams last played back in August of 2021, as Silver Creek made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Raptors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Kadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
