Softball Recap: Mayfield Comes Up Short

Mayfield came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Riverside Beavers, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 last Monday.

Mayfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Pinzone, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Mayfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Riverside, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-3.

Looking ahead, Mayfield will challenge South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside, they will take on Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
