Preview: Calabasas Coyotes vs. Oaks Christian Lions
Calabasas is 2-8 against Oaks Christian since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Calabasas Coyotes will look to defend their home court against the Oaks Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jocelynn Townsend and Andrea Woodward.
Last Friday, Calabasas ended up a good deal behind Newbury Park and lost 48-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calabasas has scored all season.
Oaks Christian posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They put the hurt on Agoura with a sharp 55-30 win. Given Oaks Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Agoura is ranked 969th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
This is the second loss in a row for Calabasas and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Oaks Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
Calabasas came up short against Oaks Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 70-59. Can Calabasas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
