Ceres is 8-0-2 against Johansen since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will host the Vikings at 6:15 p.m. Ceres' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Ceres didn't have enough. They fell just short of Livingston by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Johansen was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beyer. While losing is never fun, Johansen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Beyer are ranked 148th).

Ceres' defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2. As for Johansen, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-2.

Ceres beat Johansen by a goal in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, winning 2-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
