It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dawson County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the South Forsyth War Eagles 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kaelyn Utech, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Avery Heidt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Dawson County's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for South Forsyth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Dawson County is taking a road trip to challenge Greater Atlanta Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Forsyth, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lambert at 5:00 p.m.
