Basketball Recap: Head-Royce Takes a Loss

Head-Royce lost against Piedmont back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Jayhawks lost to the Highlanders on the road by a 70-55 margin.

Despite the loss, Head-Royce saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tucker Peay posted 18 points and six boards. Peay's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Tua Montoya was another key player, putting up ten points.

Head-Royce's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Piedmont, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Head-Royce wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-64 win against San Lorenzo on the 6th. As for Piedmont, they have also already played their next game, a 58-48 loss against Archie Williams on the 6th.
