Soccer Recap: South Gwinnett Takes a Loss

South Gwinnett fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Grayson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Grayson Rams who were credited with the victory. The Grayson Rams got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the South Gwinnett Comets' two. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Rams are ranked 16th).

Rahjae Nelson wasn't going to let Grayson walk away unscathed as he scored both of South Gwinnett's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

South Gwinnett's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Grayson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

South Gwinnett wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Rockdale County on the 11th. As for Grayson, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Archer on the 11th.
