Softball Recap: Maquoketa Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Maquoketa took on Cascade on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 8-7. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maquoketa's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Cascade, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Maquoketa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-6 win against North Linn on the 21st. As for Cascade, they will challenge Camanche at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
