            Softball Recap: Callaway Cavaliers vs. Columbus Blue Devils        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Callaway rose to the challenge  on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Columbus Blue Devils  6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Cavaliers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

 Lilah Monteith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Monteith was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Savannah Rice, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in September.  Jackie Pitts was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  double.
 Callaway was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .385. They are 12-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Callaway's victory bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Columbus,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 13-17.
As of now, neither Callaway nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
