With a playoff win on the line, Rossville rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Jackson Heights Cobras 21-18. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine contests in a row.

A big part of Rossville's victory came down to the chemistry between Canann Mitchell and his top target Cael Horgan. Mitchell rushed for 92 yards and one TD while Horgan picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Horgan has posted since back in September.

Despite the loss, Jackson Heights still got an impressive performance from Drake Mellies, who rushed for 167 yards and three scores. Mellies showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards.

Rossville's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Jackson Heights, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 11-1.

Looking ahead, Rossville will challenge Sterling on Friday. Jackson Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
