Basketball Game Preview: High Point Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Linville Hill Warriors

High Point Baptist Academy is 1-7 against Linville Hill since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The High Point Baptist Academy Eagles will square off against the Linville Hill Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, High Point Baptist Academy took a blow against Veritas Academy, falling 58-22. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Linville Hill waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coventry Christian 65-14. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Linville Hill had a senior duo take command as Desiree Smucker went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points and three steals and Ellie Rishel went 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points. Smucker is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Skyler Stoltzfus, who posted nine points and three steals.

Linville Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Linville Hill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for High Point Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

High Point Baptist Academy took a serious blow against Linville Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 55-24. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point High Point Baptist Academy was down 38-14.
