Soccer Game Preview: Petaluma vs. Sonoma Valley

The Petaluma Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Sonoma Valley Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Petaluma's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Justin-Siena. Considering the Trojans have won seven matches by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Justin-Siena with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chloe Bulwa (2), Grace Forney, and Gianna Johnson.

Meanwhile, Sonoma Valley made easy work of Napa on Tuesday and carried off a 6-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won nine in a row.

The win made it two in a row for Petaluma and bumps their season record up to 10-5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Sonoma Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-5.
