Sandia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Albuquerque, who was ranked 25th at the time (Sandia was ranked 20th). The Matadors put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 38-14 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Jahleel Lewis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 54 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 219 yards on 21 of 34 attempts. A healthy portion of Lewis' aerial production (107 yards to be exact) went to Trey Foderaro.

Sandia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Ingersoll and Israel Lopez. Lopez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Los Lunas duked it out with Atrisco Heritage Academy on Friday. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jaguars 55-14.

Sandia better keep an eye on Luke Cieremans. He was instrumental in Los Lunas' win, throwing for 258 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Those four passing touchdowns gave Cieremans a new career-high.

Los Lunas' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sandia, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-5.
