The Cate Rams lost against the Bishop Diego Cardinals last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cate fell 50-39 to Bishop Diego. Cate has struggled against Bishop Diego recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Bishop Diego's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diana Mendez, who scored 19 points. Mendez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Galilea De la cruz was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Cate has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Bishop Diego, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cate on the road again on Thursday and play against Foothill Tech at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Foothill Tech will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Bishop Diego, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Bonaventure at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Bonaventure is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.9 points per game.
