Soccer Recap: Ramona Gets the Win

Ramona's and Escondido's matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but Ramona turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. The Ramona Bulldogs' defense stepped up to hand the Escondido Cougars a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Cougars on January 14th, they had to take a 4-1 defeat.

Jordyn Sobczak and Evelyn Brown scored all three of Ramona's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 6-9-2. As for Escondido, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-2 record this season.

Ramona has already played their next game (against Valley Center), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Escondido will host Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Bernardo will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Escondido surely won't give up without a fight.
