Academy for Classical Education had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Dublin on Tuesday. The Gryphons put the hurt on the Fighting Irish with a sharp 14-5 victory. The Gryphons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Academy for Classical Education got a massive performance out of Avery Stone, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Reese Thames, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Academy for Classical Education's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Academy for Classical Education will venture away from home to face off against Glascock County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dublin, they will head out to challenge Bleckley County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Fighting Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
