Basketball Game Preview: Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs vs. Yucca Valley Trojans

Coachella Valley hasn't had much luck against Yucca Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs are taking a road trip to take on the Yucca Valley Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Coachella Valley didn't have too much trouble with Palo Verde Valley as they won 54-38.

Coachella Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamilah Lee out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Those 14 points gave Lee a new career-high. Mariah Figueroa was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Coachella Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Yucca Valley humbled Indio with a 66-26 victory.

Yucca Valley's record now sits at 8-10. As for Coachella Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coachella Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Yucca Valley in their previous meeting last Thursday, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coachella Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
