Fairview is 0-3 against Holy Family since August of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Fairview has given up an average of 10.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Fairview fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mead on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 12-11.
Julia Savage made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Dangott, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles.
Meanwhile, Holy Family waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 6-3.
Carly Tooley looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Giuliana Magnetti was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Morris, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Holy Family's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Fairview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Holy Family struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
