Chartiers Valley and Mt. Lebanon are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Chartiers Valley Colts will venture away from home to square off against the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Chartiers Valley can't be too worried about heading out to take on Mt. Lebanon: they just beat Mars at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Chartiers Valley snuck past Mars with a 46-42 victory on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chartiers Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iyla Ozbey, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points. That's the most points Ozbey has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel Boehm, who earned 12 points and four steals.

Chartiers Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Mt. Lebanon posted their closest win since December 19, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past Peters Township 48-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Indians are ranked ninth).

Mt. Lebanon's record now sits at 13-9. As for Chartiers Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Chartiers Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Lebanon in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 35-33. Will Chartiers Valley repeat their success, or does Mt. Lebanon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
