Soccer Recap: Kennedy Has No Trouble Against Reseda

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Kennedy brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against the Reseda Regents on Monday as the Kennedy Cougars made off with a 7-0 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Regents are ranked 791st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy's offense was hitting Reseda from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Emily Diaz led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Kennedy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for Reseda, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-3-2 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Kennedy duke it out with the San Fernando at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Reseda, they will take on Panorama at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reseda is facing Panorama at the right time seeing as Panorama is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
