Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mica Mountain). They breezed by the Rio Rico Hawks to the tune of 79-43 on Tuesday. Given the Thunderbolts' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Hawks are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mica Mountain now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rio Rico, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mica Mountain will be home for the holidays to greet Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mica Mountain is facing Sunnyside at the right time seeing as Sunnyside is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rio Rico, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Santa Rita at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Rita is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
