Basketball Game Preview: Canton Warriors vs. North Penn-Liberty Mountie

The Canton Warriors will challenge the North Penn-Liberty Mountie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Canton is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Wednesday. They took a blow against Northeast Bradford, falling 61-27. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Panthers are ranked 173rd).

North Penn-Liberty got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They secured a 41-36 W over Williamson on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountie.

Canton better keep an eye on Haley Litzelman. She was instrumental in North Penn-Liberty's win, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Litzelman has scored at least a third of North Penn-Liberty's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Graham, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

North Penn-Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Canton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for North Penn-Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
