While Shawnee's victory against Elida wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians won by a goal and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1. Given Shawnee's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Elida are ranked 228th) , the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Logan Vogelsang and Preston Brinkman scored both of Shawnee's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for Elida, they now have a losing record of 1-2-2.

Shawnee didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Oakwood on the 6th. As for Elida, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Kenton on the 9th.
