Baseball Game Preview: Northview Titans vs. Southwest DeKalb Panthers

For the first time this season, Northview will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Monday. They will square off against the Southwest DeKalb Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Northview is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Northview came up short against Cambridge and fell 8-4.

Northview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Forney, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jake Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Southwest DeKalb also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Paideia by a score of 10-5. The Panthers have struggled against the Pythons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Dominic Butler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Desmond McCord, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Northview's record is now 1-7. As for Southwest DeKalb, their record now sits at 3-5.

Northview couldn't quite finish off Southwest DeKalb in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 and fell 10-8. Can Northview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
