Football Recap: Lawrence Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jaxon Becker and Tahj Edwards + How To Watch

Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars on the road by a 26-7 margin. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 40-24 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lawrence's loss came despite strong showings from Tahj Edwards and Jaxon Becker. Edwards rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown, while Becker picked up 111 receiving yards. Edwards' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 110 rushing yards.

Lawrence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Lawrence wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 29-28 loss against Shawnee Mission North on the 16th. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-21 win against Shawnee Mission South on the 17th.
