Softball Recap: New Kent Falls Short of Broadway in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Kent can now relate to. They fell just short of the Broadway Gobblers by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Hannah Tober was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run. Another player making a difference was Mariah Leonard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

New Kent's loss dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Broadway, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

New Kent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broadway, they have already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Turner Ashby on the 14th.
